Ruben Lee Tripp was born in 1974 to Larry and Barry Tripp (I'm not kidding, that's really their names. Larry is a girl). He grew up in a very small town called Arimo, Idaho. Arimo only has about 300 people in it, but what it lacks in people, it makes up for in beauty and space. Ruben ran around the nearby mountains and fields and spent hours and hours playing basketball at the local park. His family split up when he was still fairly young, but he stayed in Arimo. Ruben attended Marsh Valley High School then Bridgerland Applied Technology before his mission. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in and around Cleveland, Ohio, which he says is the greatest mission in the Church. He had many great experiences there teaching and learning. After his mission, he attended Idaho State University where he majored in Engineering. And that's where our lives came together.

Michelle Renee Tripp was also born in 1974 to Kathy and Rich Drury. I grew up in Boise, Idaho, a great city that is pretty big but doesn't really seem like it. I spent a lot of time playing with the kids in my neighborhood. Also, my brother and sister and I performed poetry at the local Public Library. My mom loved to do creative things with us. I attended high school at Boise High School where I did a lot of sports, including track, volleyball, and skiing. Track was my favorite. I attended Brigham Young University where I ran track for a year, but I wasn't very dedicated so I quit after that first year. I had fun dating and spending time with friends, and I loved college. I loved to learn and I loved the college atmosphere. I made some of my best friends for life there, especially my roommate for four years, Michelle Mason. I graduated in December of 1996, then I got a job immediately after teaching at Marsh Valley High School. That's where my life came into contact with Ruben.

Ruben and I met in Pocatello, Idaho about two and a half years ago. I was teaching high school at Marsh Valley High School and Ruben was going to school full-time at Idaho State University. We met in the Institute of Religion Building playing pool. We hit it off. We went bowling, played pool, saw movies, ate out, and spent a lot of time just talking. A short time later, we fell in love and knew we wanted to get married. We were married about six months after we got engaged in the Boise Idaho Temple. Since then, we have moved to Burley, Idaho, where we currently reside. I teach at Burley High School and Ruben goes to school full-time at College of Southern Idaho, where he will graduate soon in Drafting Technology.

Last September, we had our first child. What a joy he is. He is now seven months old, and his name is Craig Michael Tripp. We named him after some of the people we admire most in the world, so that he will always have someone great to remember when he thinks of his name. Craig has brought new dimensions of love into our hearts and souls.
